Math, information technology, physics (or MIP for short). For some, it’s heaven. For others, it’s a closed book, and a pretty tough nut to crack for science communication. That’s why the MIP.Labor, an ideas workshop funded by the Klaus Tschira Foundation, aims to explore new creative ways of communicating. We co-developed the concept and provided support during the proposal stage, thanks to our combined expertise in format development for science communication.

At MIP.Labor, three science journalists each spend six months developing a prototype to communicate their topic to a specific target group. We worked with our colleagues from tactile.news on the kick-off workshop. Johanna led one of the three groups in developing the format.

Here is one participant’s report: https://www.jugend-praesentiert.de/news/blog/kreativworkshop-des-miplabor-berlin. Let’s just say there was no shortage of ideas.
